The first years of '900 Guido Cappellini create a cooperative for the distribution of milk; his daughter is employed to Varna sale in 1948 and will open its first store in Colle Val d'Elsa, in the historic center, above the bastion of Sapia. After a few years, given the satisfaction of customers, will open a second store in Piazza Arnolfo and you begin to also sell eggs, cheese and salami.

Here comes the boom and the distribution of the milk is made ​​from door to door with a "Bee" Piaggio. The farm Scorgiano, a few km from Colle Val d'Elsa, became the sole supplier of milk and since it is much appreciated customers increases. It can be said that Grandma Varna was the first to introduce the concept of food "km 0".

At the end of the 60s the pasteurization of milk becomes mandatory and local businesses are not equipped for this operation; Varna with his son Gianfranco, is supplied to the "milk plant in Florence" and from here on begins to sell wholesale milk and other food products.
